How To setup Opera irc on Windows, Mac & Linux to access FreeThinker's SSL irc

In order to connect to the network using the irc opera client with ssl
you must set everything the same way you will see here
Just follow the steps and it will all work

Open the opera browser and go to the tools menu
and select Mail and chat accounts

The name and email choice are yours.
They dont have to real, but it may help troubleshooting if needed

Name you will be known online

Here you must setup the network address
Just do it like you see here

Once you click finish you will connect immediately to the network
At this point you are able to join the regular chatrooms that you see in the list
However to be able to access all rooms and connect with a secure encrypted connection
follow the rest of the steps
This is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Please do it for your privacy
(not securing your connection will not allow you to talk with most users)

Securing your chat connection and editing the account

note: name,email, organization and account category are optional

This is where you will secure the connection
Please change your settings to match these
port: 6697 and select Secure Connection

Now you need to disconnect from the network and re-connect
with the new secure connection
Select the option Disconnect all

Now you will re-connect by clicking irc.freethinker.ws here
or using the menu that  you see bellow

The first time you will connect to the network, you will be presented
with the secure network certificate

Click install to never be asked again about it and use it by default
for this network
If you do not wish to install, just accept, everytime  you connect
Refusing will not allow you to connect

After installing or accepting the secure certificate you will enter in the main secure
chatroom. At your right you will see other people in the room list.

You can speak in public in the chatroom or double click any
nickname from the list to chat in private
(note: in this chatroom english is the official language, but other languages are also spoken)



You are now connected and secure
